The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Prince George's and Montgomery counties until 12:30 a.m.
NWS said waterways connected to the Anacostia Watershed could be affected.
The NWS is warning drivers about roadway conditions and said to avoid areas of the road with standing water, as it could be deeper than expected.
In addition to the flooding, NWS warns of strong wind of 40 to 50 miles per hour gusts and thunder and lightning.
