Farmers Market to Open in April

The market will be open again for another season starting in April 14.

is gearing up for a new market season.

Market Coordinator Jim Coleman said the committee, which has met over the winter several times, is looking forward to another successful season, which will begin on April 14.

Coleman said although there will be a change in an insurance policy requirement for vendors, he believes the same number of vendors will be present at the market.

The farmers market will also be promoted more heavily than in the past with vertical banners throughout town, the possibility of digital signage along East West Highway and signs care of the state highway.

Coleman said beyond the usual farmers available at the market some food vendors will return – like , and . The will also be available.

On Saturday, the committee will vote on an additional tree fruit farmer, so hopefully visitors will have another option for fruit in addition to .

Finally, Coleman said there will be a monthly cooking demonstration with professional chefs and community members.

The market will be open every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. until Nov. 17, unless there is severe weather.
