Farm Management Classes for Women Offered through University of Maryland Extension

The University of Maryland Extension will host Annie's Project for the Southern Maryland Region during the winter of 2013.

The University of Maryland Extension will host Annie’s Project for the Southern Maryland Region during the winter of 2013.  Annie’s Project focuses on the many aspects of farm management and is designed to empower women in overall farm decision making and to build local networks throughout the state. The target audience is women in agriculture with a passion for business, agriculture and involvement in the farm operation.  Topics for the sessions cover the five areas of Risk Management – Production, Market, Financial, Legal, and Human Risk. This course is open to anyone interested in farm management practices. 

The course will include 8 sessions to be held at the Prince George’s County Extension Office, in Clinton MD. Classes will run each Wednesday evening from 6 – 9 p.m., beginning January 23, 2013 and ending March 20, 2013 (one extra week is included in the schedule to allow for inclement weather).

The cost of the course, including meals and materials, is $75.  Please register by January 15th, as space is limited.
