Who's Coming to Riverdale Park Town Center?

Massages? Cupcakes? Tuxedos? Find out who's moving in at Riverdale Park Town Center.

Residents will soon find out what new business is coming to the Riverdale Park Town Center after a competition that brought business and government together. 

On Th., September 5 the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County; the Town of Riverdale Park; Councilmember Eric Olson’s office and the Douglas Redevelopment Corporation will announce the winner of a small business development competition.

The prize? Three years of reduced rent at a commercial/retail space of up to 877 square feet in Riverdale Park Town Center, close to the Gateway Arts District, the University of Maryland Research Park and the University of Maryland.

The winner also has the opportunity to apply for funding through the county’s Economic Development Incentive Fund for working capital, equipment and other construction needs.

“This project is an excellent example of collaboration between the County, the Town of Riverdale Park and the private sector,” Councilmember Eric Olson said in a statement. “This is a real win for everyone.”

The three finalists are a massage parlor, a bakery and a tuxedo/bridal shop.

“The review committee was very pleased with the quality and diversity of the proposals,” Councilmember Jonathan Ebbeler said in a statement.

The winner will be announced on Th., September 5 at 5 p.m. at Riverdale Park Town Center.
