The staff at Maryland National Capital Parks and Planning Commission has officially accepted the conceptual site plan for the in Riverdale Park.
Attorney Chris Hatcher, affiliated with Chip Reed's office, notified Patch on Monday evening.
The plan was accepted Friday and is zoned as MUTC.
This means that the planning staff believes the developers' plan meets criteria to officially begin the process of planning and development with the county.
However, Cafritz developers still must receive approval for the zoning change from the planning board and then District Council to follow through with the current plan.
Residents can still send feedback on the project to the county's planning department.
