Local Baker Appears on PG Chamber on the Move Radio Program
RuthAnn Tavares talked about the Riverdale Park Farmers Market and her quest for a local storefront.
Regular vendor and local baker Ruth Tavares (of Cakes by RuthAnn) appeared on the CBS Radio program “Prince George’s Chamber on the Move” Wednesday morning.
“It was very good, I was able to give a lot of information about what I do and about the Riverdale Park Farmer’s Market,” said Tavares.
The weekly program, which airs on BigTalker 1580 AM, features local businesses, including home-based businesses such as Cakes by RuthAnn. Tavares was joined on the program by her daughter Nicola, who does all the marketing for Ruth’s business.

“It was awesome to be able to do the show with my daughter, since it’s a family thing,” RuthAnn said. “She helps make sure that things are perfect before they go out the door - her taste buds are a bit sharper than mine.”
