Baltimore Ave. McDonald's Temporarily Closed Over Sewage Backup
A grease overflow reportedly caused sewage to spill into the restaurant's parking lot.
Prince George's County inspectors temporarily closed the at Baltimore Ave. and East-West Highway earlier this month after a grease overflow caused a sewage backup in the parking lot, WUSA9 reports.
Though there was no evidence of sewage inside the restaurant, officials told the news channel that the clog threatened to spread into other drains and posed a public health risk to patrons outside.
"My team was proactively working on a resolution for the equipment malfunction at the time when a customer also brought it to our attention," owner/operator Luis Gavignano said in a statement. "Providing my customers with a welcoming restaurant experience is always a top priority."
