Two events Saturday will help you experience Riverdale Park's past and present.

Take a trip to the 1800s and experience the War of 1812 at the Riversdale House Museum Saturday with their 15th Annual Battle of Bladensburg Encampment.

The annual event is a great way for families to learn about their town's history. It will feature children's activities like learning how to drill and muster. Plus, people dressed up as British soldiers will be on the grounds.

At 3:15 p.m., the battle reenactment will take place. Period music will also be played throughout the afternoon, and tours of the mansion will be available every 30 minutes for a $3.

For a fun night out, head over to Calvert House Inn around 8 p.m. when Hammer No More The Fingers will play live. The rock trio from Durham, N.C., was featured in Spin Magazine in 2009.
