Welcome the Holidays with Breakfast with Santa
It's a new holiday season, but some tried-and-treasured traditions remain: one of the oldest ways to kickstart the holiday spirt is breakfast with Santa, who returns to Riversdale House Museum in early December.
"Sint Niklass," a Flemish forerunner of our modern Santa Claus, returns for breakfast at Riversdale on Saturday, December 3, his traditional early-December feast day. Riversdale celebrates the holiday in honor of Rosalie Stier Calvert, a Flemish immagrant and mistress of Riversdale in the early 19th century, immigrant, who continued the homeland customs for her own nine children.
Children ages 3-10 (along with their parents) are invited to join Sint Niklas for a Belgian-inpired breakfast--and receive a gift bag as Santa makes his rounds. But hurry to reserve a spot--advance reservations are required, by Wednesday, November 23.
