Riverdale Park's 5 Things: Jazz on the Lawn, University Park's Bamboo Plan, County Cooling Centers Open

1.) WEATHER » The sun will be out in full force today with highs in the mid-90s. Heat index will hit 101 but there will be a northwest wind moving between 3 and 7 miles per hour. Evening temperatures and humidity will be in the 70s and a 5 mph wind will come through until midnight.

4.) YOU SAID IT » "The state has been contacted and they will trim the affected area. In the meantime The Public Facilities Committee will consider and recommend to the U.P. Town Council on how to address this issue by considering adding new legislation requiring stricter trimming and control of invasive species (like bamboo) throughout the town," commented University Park Council Member Michael Cron (Ward 6) about University Park's plan to deal with a local bamboo problem.
