 Eligibility:\n&nbsp\;\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Curre
 nt enrollment at a two or four-year college or university\, or vocationa
 l school\;\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Entering freshme
 n must have taken the SAT 1 or the ACT unless having graduated from high
  school for 5 or more years.\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\
 ; Current undergraduate and graduate students must have earned at least 
 24 college credit hours.\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Cu
 rrent resident of DC\, MD or VA\n&nbsp\;Essays should be a brief  summar
 y of how your educational plans will advance your career and/or  interes
 ts. Describe how and when any unusual family or personal  circumstances 
 have affected your achievement in school\, work experience\,  or your pa
 rticipation in school and community activities. List school  and communi
 ty service activities in which you have participated without  pay during
  the past four years (e.g.\, hospital or hospice\, volunteer\,  etc) Inc
 lude special awards\, honors\, or any other related information.\nTerm &
 amp\; Conditions&nbsp\;\nUp  to a five (5) scholarship awards of either 
 $500 or $1000 each will be  granted. Part-time students are eligible for
  the $500 scholarship  awards.&nbsp\; Full-time students will receive th
 e $1000 scholarship awards.&nbsp\; The  $500 awards are for students att
 ending an accredited two- or four-year  college\, university or vocation
 al-technical school on a part-time (less  than 12 credits/term) basis. T
 he $1000 awards are for students attending  an accredited two- or four-y
 ear college\, university or  vocational-technical school on a full-time 
 (12 or more credits/term)  basis.&nbsp\; Students may reapply to the pro
 gram each year. A student may receive a maximum total of four (4) awards
 .\n&nbsp\;\nAwards are intended for use in the 2012-2013 academic school
  year.
