 n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Current enrollment at a two
  or four-year college or university\, or vocational school\;\n&thorn\;&n
 bsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Entering freshmen must have taken the 
 SAT 1 or the ACT unless having graduated from high school for 5 or more 
 years.\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Current undergraduat
 e and graduate students must have earned at least 24 college credit hour
 s.\n&thorn\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Current resident of DC\,
  MD or VA\n&nbsp\;Essays should be a brief  summary of how your educatio
 nal plans will advance your career and/or  interests. Describe how and w
 hen any unusual family or personal  circumstances have affected your ach
 ievement in school\, work experience\,  or your participation in school 
 and community activities. List school  and community service activities 
 in which you have participated without  pay during the past four years (
 e.g.\, hospital or hospice\, volunteer\,  etc) Include special awards\, 
 honors\, or any other related information.\nTerm &amp\; Conditions&nbsp\
 ;\nUp  to a five (5) scholarship awards of either $500 or $1000 each wil
 l be  granted. Part-time students are eligible for the $500 scholarship 
  awards.&nbsp\; Full-time students will receive the $1000 scholarship aw
 ards.&nbsp\; The  $500 awards are for students attending an accredited t
 wo- or four-year  college\, university or vocational-technical school on
  a part-time (less  than 12 credits/term) basis. The $1000 awards are fo
 r students attending  an accredited two- or four-year college\, universi
 ty or  vocational-technical school on a full-time (12 or more credits/te
 rm)  basis.&nbsp\; Students may reapply to the program each year. A stud
 ent may receive a maximum total of four (4) awards.\n&nbsp\;\nAwards are
  intended for use in the 2012-2013 academic school year.
