While it's true many national retailers close up shop on Thanksgiving, there are a few places in and around Riverdale Park and University Park that are keeping their doors open on Thursday.

If you're in need of some last minute ingredients for your holiday feast, you can stop by Giant Food in Hyattsville between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.  They'll have plenty of cranberry sauce.

Don't feel like cooking a traditional Thanksgiving feast? Head over to the Calvert House Inn right here in Riverdale Park. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. they will be offering their traditional menu as well as a special Thanksgiving meal, including turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry, and all the fixings.

Rite Aid Pharmacy in Riverdale Park will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. if you need to stop in for some travel toothpaste or an extra memory card for your digital camera. The pharmacy will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for holiday prescription pick-up.

If catching a flick is your Thanksgiving tradition you're in luck! Regal Hyattsville Royale 14 in will be open all day, and the Old Greenbelt Theater will be open as well for two showings of J. Edgar starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Those in need of local travel can leave their cars at home and hop on the Metro or the Metrorail buses, both of which will be operating on their Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving.
