Welcome Spring With Free Ice at Rita's

The first day of spring may not always come with the warmest temperatures, but we can celebrate one thing: free Italian ice.
The Rita's in College Park located at 8900 Baltimore Ave. will welcome customers with a free regular ice from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday to help usher in the spring. Last year, Rita's gave away more than 1.2 million cups of ice in a ten hour period, according to its website.
Expect the lines to be long, so consider arriving earlier in the day. (If you plan to buy a treat in addition to getting a free ice, Rita's said it will have express lanes available.)
The promotion is available at Rita's nationwide. Rita's has given away free Italian ice to celebrate the first day of spring for the past 20 years.

Agreed; I think there's a mobile phone place in that location now? The closest Ritas' I know of is on Route 1, at Greenbelt Road.

Not sure of the exact date, but I think Ritas on Riverdale Road was open last summer; then I saw it was closed, and for the past 2 or 3 months, instead of looking like it was closed for the season like most of the Ritas' do, it looked like the storefront was vacant. Over the past few weeks, I've seen a mobile phone company in that location. Oh well, at least the one on Route 1 isn't too far away! ;)
