Riverdale Park employees and volunteers delivered a dose of holiday cheer Friday as they distributed 45 food baskets to families in need across town.

Members of the Public Works Department, the Police Department, general town government, and the Riverdale Fire Department participated in the effort, which was part of the Prince George's County public safety agencies' Holiday Food Program.

Town employees also contributed many of the items that went into the baskets.

"Town staff's work on this is but one of many demonstrations of the inner beauty of our employees," said Riverdale Park Mayor Vernon Archer. "I'm so lucky to be associated with folks that do things like this."
