SPEAK OUT: Do You Plan to Spend More Money this Holiday Season?

How will your finances affect your holiday spending?

Two-thirds of respondents to a recent poll by the NPD Group said they “plan to spend about the same” as last year, while 10 percent planned to “spend more.”

With the economy and job situation still in flux for many families, we want to know what families in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County plan to do for Christmas, Hanukah, or Kwanzaa gifts in 2012.

Will you be more creative with your gifting?

Use sites like Groupon, Living Social, etc?

Brave Black Friday sales?

Cook or bake for familty and friends?

Whenever possible, we buy gas and food outside of the county. The same will be for gift. And we are looking for a house elsewhere. Thugs and looters must be defeated.

Money? What money? We're in trouble when the garden stops producing.

A resounding NO. I'll also buy in Delaware or Virginia when I do spend.

Sorry but no, I go to Delaware and do the tax free shopping, have friends by my cigarettes in Virginia. Sorry Maryland I was born and raised here but you have taxed us all way to much and it has to be hurting you one way or another, but hey you have 50 million to get out of the ACC so things are not that bad, and the illegals can go to college for the same as a resident, so you really do not need much more tax dollars huh?

I shop in Delaware too. But I was born and raised there... so when I go back to see family or friends I often take a trip to Christiana Mall. But I'll say Targets in MD get a lot of my business.

We are budgeting for slightly more than last year, but not much.
