Shagga Coffee Among WaPo's Top 40 Picks For DC Diners
Shagga Coffee & Restaurant was the only Prince George's County restaurant to make the list.
The vegetarian combination at Shagga Coffee & Restaurant made the Washington Post's list of '40 dishes Washingtonians shouldn't live without in 2013,' released Thursday.
Post editors taste tested dishes at restaurants throughout the DC region to develop the list, sifting through hundreds of reader nominations.
A few restaurants in neighboring Montgomery County also made the list. The fried potato tots at Bethesda's Food & Wine Co., the fried chicken with spiced salt and basil at Rockville's Jumbo Jumbo cafe, the Mongolian beef with cumin at Joe's Noodle House, also in Rockville, all received nods.
Do you think the vegetarian combination at Shagga is a dish Washingtonians shouldn't live without? Should more Prince George's County restaurants have been represented in this year's list? Tell us in the comments.

My favorite dish at my favorite local eatery!
What other local spots do you think should make this list? Personally, I think the pupusas at Pollo Fiesta are some of the best around.

Pollo Fiesta has some good stuff, and I'm fond of that HUGE bowl of chicken soup they serve. But I'm SO glad that Shagga made the list! Everything I've had to eat there has been great - ooooh, those sambusas!!! - and the service is efficient and friendly.

The sambusa are amazing. And they serve the best cup of coffee along the Rt. 1 corridor.
