Riverdale's Jerald Williams Leads NCAA Division III in Assists

The Bladensburg High School graduate racked up 21 assists in a single game this month for the Lycoming College Warriors.

Riverdale's Jerald Williams leads NCAA Division III men's basketball in assists after posting a record-setting performance earlier this month for the Lycoming College Warriors.

According to the college's website, the junior broke both a school and a Commonwealth Conference record on Dec. 17 when he tallied 21 assists during a 116-101 win over Mount Aloysius College.

That total — which surpassed his own record of 17 — brought the Bladensburg High School graduate within 12 assists of Lycoming's career record (432) and pushed his season average up to a nation-leading 9.7 assists per game.

Lycoming, a small liberal arts college in Williamsport, Pa., is looking to enter the new year with a perfect record for the first time since 1966-67.
