On Tuesday, Aug. 7, Riverdale Park will join some 15,000 locations across the United States and Canada in marking National Night Out (NNO), an annual observance designed to increase awareness of crime prevention efforts.

Launched in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch, NNO brings together residents, police, and other leaders at community events organized around the theme of public safety.

This year, Riverdale Park's event will be held at town center at Queensbury Road (across from the MARC station) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In addition to members of the Riverdale Park Police Department and community leaders, the evening will feature food, games, music, and giveaways.
