Riverdale Park Lieutenant Honored for Highway Safety Contributions
The award was presented to Lt. Andrew Powell by the Traffic Safety Specialist program.
Riverdale Park Police Lt. Andrew Powell was honored by the Traffic Safety Specialist program last week for his contributions to highway safety in Maryland.
Powell and other awardees attended a TSS luncheon Friday in Annapolis, where they were recognized for attaining "exceptional levels of experience, training and proficiency in highway safety and traffic enforcement methods and procedures."
“Cleary these award recipients epitomize the spirit of the TSS program,” Thomas J. Gianni, chief of the Maryland Highway Safety Office, said in a statement. “Effective traffic enforcement translates to fewer crashes, fewer injuries, and fewer deaths on our roadways. Traffic safety is public safety, and we congratulate the awardees on their very distinguished achievement.”
The TSS program is a collaborative project of the Maryland Highway Safety Office, the Maryland Chiefsof Police Association, the Maryland Sheriffs’ Association, and the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions.
