This Saturday, Oct. 6 marks Riverdale Park Day, an annual celebration of the town's proud heritage and long history.

Hundreds are expected to drop by Riverside Park from noon to 5 p.m. for free activities, exhibits, performances, including:

• Games, exhibits, pony rides, and face-painting
• A mobile skate park from the Maryland National Park and Planning Commission.
• Angry Birds and a pair of plasma screen TVs for video games
• Flamenco music and dance from Ricardo Marlow 
• Acoustic sounds from award-winning artist Janine Wilson
• Blues from the Sheryl Sears Trio
• Music from DC-based Dr. S.O. Feel Good Band and Show.
• A chance to meet local elected officials, members of the Riverdale Volunteer Fire Department, and officers from the Riverdale Park Police Department
• Representatives from local service organizations such as the Riverdale Lions Club

Local vendors will also be on hand offering a selection of food.

Attendees are encouraged to park at Riverdale Elementary School and walk to the park by crossing Riverdale Road towards Taylor Road, taking the first left onto Taylor Road, and turning onto Riverside Drive.
