Riverdale Nonprofit Receives Grant to Aid Local Families

Sowing Empowerment and Economic Development, Inc. a housing counseling agency in Riverdale, will receive more than $40K in state grand funding to help families in need.

The state of Maryland recently awarded $11.8 million in grants to nonprofit agencies that aid Maryland families facing foreclosures, including the Riverdale based Sowing Empowerment and Economic Development, Inc. (SEED).

SEED will receive nearly $43K to continue with their work helping family all across Prince George's County facing foreclosures. The funds will allow the organization to hire a bilingual counselor and to move to a larger facility.
