S & J Wins Readers' Choice Poll
Voters declare Riverdale Park bar and restaurant best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
It seems as if the luck of the Irish rests with Riverdale Park's S & J Bar and Restaurant, which overwhelmingly won the most votes for best place to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. The friendly competition pitted bars and restaurants in Riverdale Park, College Park, Greenbelt and Hyattsville.
The S & J Bar and Restaurant is known is for its casual, friendly atmosphere and killer crab cakes. They also run two karaoke nights per week and have outdoor patio seating, making it the perfect place for an early spring meal.
Of the 71 votes cast, S & J received 53 of them for 74 percent of the vote. In a distant second place was College Park favorite Looney's Pub with 10 votes for 14 percent of the total.
Down in Hyattsville, Franklin's Restaurant, Brewery and General Store came in third place with only four votes for five percent of the total.

OMG! I used to work there as a waitress back in the early 80's. I loved working there. They were super nice to work for and the customers were the best. I remember when the DeMatha football coaching staff would come have meetings there and the old Citizen's Bank of Maryland Board of Trustee's would come in for lunch from time to time. The food was great too. Ah, the memories.
