Queensbury Crossing Repairs Could Be Completed by Thursday

Although work wasn't set to be completed until early Monday, there's a possibility the crossing will be open in time for the farmers market.

For a week Riverdale Park residents and other area commuters have been asked to reroute their travel as the crossing at Queensbury Road has been closed to traffic.

But after a week of backups on Route 1 and East West Highway, the detour signs may be taken down early.

Several sources told Patch that the railroad tracks may be open in time for the Riverdale Park Farmers Market on Thursday afternoon.

Patch contacted CSX, or the company that owns the railway, but they did not return the call in time for this post.

Looking at the tracks Wednesday afternoon, there was a noticeable difference and the work seemed completed.
