Update: Missing Mount Rainier Man Found

73-year-old Leo Burney was located Wednesday after disappearing from home a day earlier.

 

Update, 5:12 p.m.: Burney was located Wednesday in Washington. Police said he was found in good health and returned home.

From the Prince George's County Police Department:

The PGPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a critical missing man identified as 73-year-old Leo Burney. He left his home, located in the 4300 block of 30th Street in Mount Rainier, on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Burney was last seen walking in the area of 30th Street and Upshur Street.

Burney has Alzheimer's disease and a heart-related illness. He is in need of his medication. Burney has not been seen since.

Burney is a black male with a light complexion, 5’7”, and approximately 170 pounds. He has black hair and a mustache. Burney was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, green and black plaid shirt, and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Leo Burney is asked to call the Prince George's County Police Department’s District I Investigative Section at (301) 699-2601.

Update: Police tell us Mr. Burney has been found safe and returned home.
