Update: Friday Morning Shooting Victim Dies

A man was found with a gunshot wound near the Surf Club.

Update, 2:31 p.m.: The man who was shot early Friday morning near the Surf Club in Edmonston has now died from his gunshot wound, according to police.

No other details have been released at this time.

According to Police Chief Stephen Walker of the Town of Edmonston, officers from the Town of Edmonston were called for sounds of shot fired. When they arrived on the scene, officers located an adult male in his 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Crittenden Street. He was transported to a local hospital where we he died a few hours later.

Walker stated the homicide was a result of some type of altercation.

“We are not sure if the altercation occurred inside the club or out; we are still investigating the incident along with homicide officers from Prince George’s County Police Department," he said.

Orginal Post, 11:53 a.m.: Prince George's County Police are investigating a Friday morning shooting in Bladensburg.

Police arrived at the 4700 block of Kenilworth Avenue around 1 a.m. in response to a report of a shooting near the Surf Club.

They found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

The shooting actually occurred nearby in the 5200 block of Kenilworth Avenue.

At this time there are no suspects.
