Conservation Group Gives 100% Ratings to 22nd District Lawmakers
The scores measure each legislator's voting record on environmental bills.
Sen. Paul Pinsky (D), Del. Tawanna Gaines (D), Del. Anne Healey (D), and Del. Justin Ross (D) each achieved the group's highest score. The 22nd district covers Riverdale Park, University Park, and several other nearby communities.
The ratings measure a legislator's record on environmental bills by determining whether each of his or her votes matched the LCV's stance.
In 2012, the league's analysis included votes on bay restoration, renewable energy, and stormwater management, among other policy areas.
Statewide, 15 senators and 72 delegates were given perfect scores. Senators in the DC area averaged an 88 percent rating, while delegates from the same districts averaged a 96 percent rating.
The ratings are consistent with high marks given to 22nd district legislators in the past. Pinsky enjoys a 99 percent lifetime rating; Gaines, a 93 percent rating; Healey, a 91 percent rating; and Ross, a 95 percent rating.
